The humor is only morbid to those on the outside. When our brother died and was cremated, we joked with our sister-in-law that if she shook the urn could she hear any of the metal parts he had in his body from a decades old car accident. We laughed and enjoyed our inside family joke!
You’re right! It’s those little moments that bring you closer together as a family. I’m doing a little road trip with my 10 y.o. niece and bf this summer, and I told my niece I’d probably bring granny (in her urn) so we could take pictures with her. We both got a kick out of it, and now she keeps mentioning it.
