I love how we women are seeking true abundance by looking beyond the hustle culture. We're so fuckin' smart.
Certainly relate to what you're saying about Alzheimer's. I often think (about my aunt -- my late mother's identical twin who has Alzheimer's) that I never got a chance to say goodbye. She's still there, and I visit her nearly every day, but I miss her.
So fuckin’ smart. ;) That is such a relatable experience regarding not having a chance to say goodbye. I feel that way, but at the same time, I also feel like I’m constantly saying goodbye to different parts of her. It’s THE WORST! Sending you strength! x
I love wellbeing, wanderlust and work! These words are perfect for me too.
So sorry to hear about your mum. My grandmother had Alzheimer's disease. It's devastating to see them disappear. I hope you're doing OK, it's not easy.
I resonate with a lot you are experiencing. I quit my full-time job to pursue my writing degree. Now I have a handful of clients on the side, allowing me to work but not so much that I don't get time to hone my craft. I never liked the hustle, it made me depressed. As for grieving someone who is still alive, I'm sending you hugs. 💓
I'm all about seasons and stacking! I feel like balance is one of those unattainable things, no matter how hard I try, so these days I tend to try less to do that and work with my energy instead. It's all an work in progress, but at least it's fun work... or at least more fun than sitting at my desk for 8 hours a day 😂
walking is great! And you can pair that with an audiobook ~ have you tried gua-sha'ing in the morning instead? it's supposed to be draining some extra fluids from your face and those tend to accumulate overnight. have fun
I was planning to download an audio book soon! Any you’d recommend? That’s a good point about Gua Sha. I think the nighttime relaxation is helping me sleep better but I will definitely give it a try in the morning too! I guess with morning I worry that it will be harder to stick to the habit because I don’t have as much time in the morning. Do you Gua Sha often?
Ohhh yeah the relaxing part of it is hard to beat ;) least year I wanted for some black friday sales and got myself a foreo (those micro current devices) and I tend to do it in the morning because it's those 3 minutes that allow me to actually wake up and not be a full on zombie around the house. In a nutshell, whatever works 🧡 (I've recently been enjoying some crime/thriller books but I'm not sure if that's your genre)
I love crime thriller! I had a brief obsession with Freida McFadden, but then I was up until 2 am some nights breezing through the books so I had to stop to get some sleep. lol
I loved reading this and fantasizing about a "slow down" myself. In my perfect world, I'd take the whole summer off. Whether or not it happens remains to be seen but it's a great goal.
As a mom, I do like the idea of seasons. Things are often unbalanced for me and it isn't even in my control. I can't control cold and flu season, for example! I just try to be gentle with myself in general when I can.

Nice to hear they are your words too! ❤️ And thanks for your kind words. It is rough indeed! But making it through.

Sounds like you’re on a great path! Good for you. And thank you for your kind words about the grief situation. 🫶

I hear ya! Great to work with your energy, if you can! One of the perks of freelancing.

I need to find out more then XD have you read Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter?
I haven’t. But just looked it up. Now it’s on my list! Is it a good one for audio?
Absolutely! :) let me know how you go

Congrats for putting yourself first. ❤️
Yesss. Whole summer off would be great! Hopefully, I’ll manage 2 weeks in a row! ❤️

That makes a lot of sense! It’s hard to balance it all ALL the time. So seasons work for me too. ❤️
Would love to hear about all the cool shit in your lives! Feel free to join the conversation here in the comments! x
